CLASS OF 2009

Many of our students go on to study performing at further level. Here are some of our students embarking on performing arts courses this year:

Matthew Hickman

Jonathan White

I thank LYT for getting me where I am today. For providing me with life skills and vast experience that I can use now and later in life. It gave me confidence and experience...Having helped voluntary with LYT for 4 years I have decided to take it up as a career and am currently studying Community Arts, an interest I have thanks to Largs Youth Theatre.

My final play with the Youth Theatre I'll never forget. I played the lead part of James in 'Blackout' which we took to the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh. It was great to do something so different and I've never been in a play that's had such a huge reaction!

Matthew has been accepted to study Commercial Music at UWS

Studying Community Drama at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts

Colleen Garrett

Angie Moir

I became a student at the Largs Youth Theatre when i was in first year at high school. My big brother Ryan was always quite into performing so he persuaded me to come along and join in. At first I was really reluctant to do a lot but the wonderful Marianne and Andrew brought me out my shell! It has become a bit of a running gag that I was always cast as the mum!

Largs Youth Theatre provided me with the greatest opportunities. We've been involved in so many different types of performance, but I think for me our performance of Blackout at the Lyceum in Edinburgh was the highlight of my many years there. I liked Edinburgh so much on that trip, I decided to stay there!

Angie succesfully auditioned to study Acting at Langside Glasgow

Colleen is off to study Drama & Performance at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
